Jacqueline Sowa

LAWYER

(Presently on Leave of Absence)

“I became a lawyer because I felt passionate about standing up for people who couldn’t stand up for themselves. I’m a thorough and meticulous litigator – being well-prepared is half the battle. I am also a creative problem solver, because there is always more than one way to settle a case. When I go to court I go with a strong strategy and, as a result, I have an impressive record of success. I care deeply about achieving a favorable outcome for my clients.”

Professional Background

Since 2008, Jacqueline has represented clients in both the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia, litigating and negotiating successful outcomes for businesses and individuals across a range of practice areas. Recently, she had successful cases cited in “Canadian Divorce Law and Practice, 2nd Edition” and in “Child Support Guidelines Law and Practice, 2nd edition”.

As an estate litigator, she has represented clients when wills are being contested, made successful committee (adult guardianship) applications, and helped elderly parents recover money or property they transferred to adult children for estate planning purposes, but which the children claim was given as a gift.

In business and real estate law, she has assisted clients in recovering money and property, and in resolving construction, real estate, and lease disputes.
