Family Courts Are Closed but Collaborative Practice Is Open!
The family courts are closed during this pandemic however our collaborative offices are open to help you….collaborative professionals can help you within the Collaborative Process (CP) to resolve your separation and divorce in a peaceful, cost effective and non-adversarial manner.
Yes, these are crazy times now as we all strive to keep healthy and lessen the burden on our amazing health care workers and others diligently working in the essential services. Family courts in BC are closed with the exception of urgent telephone applications. Meanwhile couples and families are facing tremendous financial and emotional stress. If you are going through a separation/divorce consider using the Collaborative Process (CP). In CP we don’t use or rely on the courts and judges to make your decisions because we believe that each couple is best able, with the support of collaborative professionals, to make those important decisions.
We are open for business and can help you to move forward. We prioritize everyone’s health and safety at this time and respect the requirement to maintain physical distancing. So we are not having in-person meetings as we used to and are instead using teleconferencing platforms like Zoom for our meetings. We, including our clients, have been impressed how efficient and effective these virtual meetings can be.
I encourage you to research the Collaborative Process and learn the benefits that it offers. It can, and often does, avoid the unnecessary cost and destruction of litigation.
